Torna Fort 

Torna Fort, also known as Prachandagad, is a large fort located in Pune district, in the Indian state of Maharashtra. It is historically significant because it was the first fort captured by Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj in 1646, at the age of 16, forming the nucleus of the Maratha empire.

Torna Fort This fort is believed to have been constructed by Shiva panth,followers of the Hindu god Shiva , in the 13 th century. A Menghai Devi temple, also referred to as the Tornaji temple, is situated near the entrance of the fort.

Purandar Fort  Purandar Fort  is known as the birthplace of  Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj , the son of  Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj .The fort is repeatedly mentioned in the rising of Shivaji Maharaj against the  Adil Shahi   Bijapur Sultanate  and the  Mughals . The fort of Purandhar stands at 4,472 ft (1,387 m) above the sea level in the  Western Ghats , 50 km to the southeast of  Pune .  The twin forts of Purandar and Vajragad (or Rudramal) of which the latter is the smaller of the two, is located on the eastern side of the main fort. Karnala Fort    Karnala Fort  (also called  Funnel Hill ) is a hill fort in  Raigad district ,  Maharashtra , India, about 10 km from  Panvel  city. Currently it is a protected place lying within the  Karnala Bird Sanctuary . It was a place of strategic importance since it overlooked the Bor pass, which connected the  Konkan coast  to the interior of Maharashtra ( Deccan Plateau )  on the main trade route between these areas.
